Our kids take apple sauce or yogurt for lunch pretty much everyday so when apple season comes along, I like to can some up.

Stella and I went apple picking a few weeks back and it just wasn't enough so we picked up 12 more pounds and canned them up today.

I water bathed my jars for about 20 mins after but you
Could just keep yours in the fridge too.
Apple sauce recipe
Ingredients
12 pounds apples
1/2 cup water
1/4 cup lemon juice
sugar (optional) until the sauce tastes how you want.
cinnamon (optional)
wash your apples
Core peel and chop them up small. Make Sure to cut off any gross parts to avoid bacteria. We used this apple peeler and corer we purchased. Before we had this we just used a Knife.
Use a really big stock pot and pour the water in the bottom. Then add your chopped up apples.
Stir the apples and bring them to a boil.
Reduce to low, and simmer away. If there's a ton of water, don't worry it's normal. Just keep Simmering it down. Add in your sugar or cinnamon if you want it in there and simmer down until Desired flavour and texture is reached. Mine took about 20 mins.
If there's too many chunks you can blend it but mine was a good texture so I just canned it up and water bathed it for 20 mins.
This recipe Made approximately 4 litres of sauce.
Enjoy!
I did use a canning funnel and lifter during the process but you don't need anything special to make this.
